Jeremiah 8:6-7

"I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right.  None of them repent of their wickedness, saying "what have I done?"  Each pursues their own course like a horse charging into battle.

Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration.  But My people do not know the requirements of the Lord."

Hebrews11:1 & 17-19

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

"By faith Abraham, when God tested him; offered Isaac as a sacrifice.  He (Abraham) who had embraced (received in faith) the promises (of God) was about to sacrifice his one and only son,

even though God had said to him, 'It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned (born).'

Abraham reasoned (in faith) that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking..., he (Abraham) did receive Isaac back from death (when God spared his life by providing another sacrifice)."
